The Baja Skirt is a timeless classic with flowing lines that compliment any figure. The updated style features a longer yoke with the first tier falling below the hip.
View A has a lined fitted yoke with side zipper that sits below the waist. Instructions are included for both lapped and invisible zipper applications.
View B is a pull-on skirt with an elastic waist that sits at your natural waist.
Designed for soft fabrics such as gauze, challis, batiste, eyelet, batik etc., the skirt can be customized many ways by shortening or lengthening the ruffles, eliminating the lower ruffle for a shorter skirt and more. Use different colors for an ombre look or add lace for a Bohemian flair.
Both views have optional linings to prevent show-through on sheer and very light fabrics. When both skirt and lining are made from natural fibers, the skirt becomes a wardrobe staple in tropical weather.
The skirt length is approx. 33" to 34" from the Center Back at the natural waist.
Suggested Fabrics: Soft Sheer to lightweight woven fabrics such as crinkle gauze*, rayon challis, batiste, cotton lawn, lightly embroidered eyelet, dotted Swiss, quilting weight cottons, rayon batik, cotton batik. * For View B only.
Suggested Lining: Lightweight fabric such as batiste, muslin, cotton lawn. A lining is recommended for sheer and semi-sheer fabric.
