Shreds of scrap fabric stitched together through layers of dis-solvable web make this unique short vest. Several design ideas included.
Suggested Fabrics: Scarps of lt to med wt cottons. Foundations: Muslin. Lining: (if you choose to use fabric on the bottom layer of the vest) lt to med wt cotton or lining fabric. Back with shredded fabric yoke (opt); med to heavy wt cottons.
Notions: thread, all purpose, the colors of the binding fabric, Nylon mono-filament thread - 1500 yd spool. Dis-solvable web (Aqua solv or Solvy) 3 yds 40" wide (without lining), 1 1/2 yds with lining. Double amounts for 22" wide dis-solvable web. Rotary cutter, cutting mat (17" x 23" min) 6" x 24" cutting ruler. 1 yd Pellon Tru-Grid or similar pattern making material. Opt: Walking foot for your machine.
