Short vest with center front opening. Flip-and-sew foundation piecing on a muslin foundation. Curvy line design with self-made bias tape covering raw edges of curves.
Suggested Fabrics: Outside shell: Lt to Md Wt cottons, md wt silks such as pongee, broadcloth, shantung. Lining: Lt wt silk, polyester or rayon lining fabric.
Notions: thread 4-5 colors for top stitching and quilting (cover vest used metallics in red, dk purple, lt blue and gold.) Fine point black Sharpie or other permanent black marking pen. Plain white tissue paper - about 12 sheets 20"-26" for tracing on to foundation fabric. Note: for stitching on medium weight silks, 75 Embroidery or Sharp Microtex machine needles are recommended.
