"When I put mine together, I used a hammer to put the shorter center thread spool holder in place. After that, I kept tapping until it finally sat in the hole.
The taller thread guide pole has a “set screw” on the side of the base. It’s hard to see (everything is painted black). Once the pole is inserted, tighten the screw to make it secure."
