Petersham is often confused with grosgrain ribbon but the important difference is that the Petersham has a scalloped edge which allows you to shape the ribbon. Be sure to preshrink where necessary before use with steam or by spritzing with water and pressing with iron set for rayon.

All of our ribbon is sold in increments of one yard. So if you order “1”, you’ll get one yard, “2” and you’ll get two yards. Our website does not calculate in fractional yards (for example: 1 ½ ). Be sure to choose Color and Width, then how many yards you’d like.
Full Spools of Petersham Ribbon contain 33 yards (30 meters). Enter quantity of 33 for a full roll.

The colors are gorgeous and the quality of the ribbon is wonderful! I'm making hats & these will finish them beautifully.
The online color chart is a bit challenging to use. Luckily, I guessed correctly and love the colors I chose. However, a new, up-to-date color chart would make shopping easier. Respectfully submitted. I love these ribbons!

Petersham Ribbon
Petersham Ribbon from the Sewing Place is a wonderful quality and is so easy to apply. I ordered the 1 1/4" width to use as a band around a tunic neckline. The nature of Petersham ribbon allows it to conform easily to curves, which it did. I have now ordered the Petersham Ribbon Sample book which not only has samples all of the available colors, but also includes samples of all of the available widths. Very helpful.

I wanted this for waistbands, and to add room to too-tight sleeves. This is hard to come by. Hurray that you have it! Also, it's washable, unlike grosgrain.
