Petersham is often confused with grosgrain ribbon but the important difference is that the Petersham has a scalloped edge which allows you to shape the ribbon. Be sure to preshrink where necessary before use with steam or by spritzing with water and pressing with iron set for rayon.

All of our ribbon is sold in increments of one yard. So if you order “1”, you’ll get one yard, “2” and you’ll get two yards. Our website does not calculate in fractional yards (for example: 1 ½ ). Be sure to choose Color and Width, then how many yards you’d like.
Full Spools of Petersham Ribbon contain 33 yards (30 meters). Enter quantity of 33 for a full roll.

Your petersham ribbon is awesome and so is the Sewing Place
The petersham ribbon is so beautiful and the Sewing Place is so very considerate. When I ordered the ribbon they gave me a discount which was really generous. Again, the ribbon is beautiful. Please note that #8 is a true red with some yellow in it. It is not orange by any means but it is not a Christmas red. No problem with that, just some red clarification as all of our computer screens display color differently. If you need to be sure on your color, order a colorcard :)

This is GREAT petersham! Used the 3/8” to shape the inside neck edge of a boucle jacket, and the 1/4” for trim. Shapes very nicely and great weight!

The ribbon was advertised as perfect for wedding apparel. I purchased this ribbon for a flower girl dress I'm making for my 3 yr old granddaughter. I am hoping it will go well with natural Swiss cotton Nelona as a sash. The narrower ribbon will be used thru beading insertion applied to the bodice. Cannot comment on construction as I haven't started yet.
