Petersham is often confused with grosgrain ribbon but the important difference is that the Petersham has a scalloped edge which allows you to shape the ribbon. Be sure to preshrink where necessary before use with steam or by spritzing with water and pressing with iron set for rayon.

All of our ribbon is sold in increments of one yard. So if you order “1”, you’ll get one yard, “2” and you’ll get two yards. Our website does not calculate in fractional yards (for example: 1 ½ ). Be sure to choose Color and Width, then how many yards you’d like.
Full Spools of Petersham Ribbon contain 33 yards (30 meters). Enter quantity of 33 for a full roll.

It is wonderful to have a source for this superior Petersham ribbon. I purchased it to use in the button packets of cardigans. Before applying it to my project, I washed, dried, and pressed it. It is luxurious and supple, the perfect ingredient in my super lightweight knit cardigan. It took buttonholes very well.

Perfect for a waistband
I use this ribbon to make interior waistband facings on my skirts. It holds it size, but contours slightly to the waist over time, and does not itch!
